How to Be Thankful When You Don't Feel Like It!

Writer's picture: Bonnie BurtBonnie Burt

I spoke to a gentleman who was having a very frustrating day! His ear buds were not connecting properly to his mobile phone! He got disconnected trying to get it to work. Next, his computer froze...it just would not open no matter how much trying he did. Very frustrating indeed!

You have had those feelings...the weather is too cold, the day at the office was crazy. Just when you thought you were ready to head home, another phone call. Your two-year-old did everything a two-year-old could possibly do, all in one day!

How can you possibly lead a thankful life amid so much frustration! The big word here is "refocus". Instead of looking at all the negative, begin to thank God for the good things happening...there is always something good! Thank God you have a workplace. Thank God, another phone call means that your position is necessary. Thank God for that "pesty" two-year-old. You may have to look yourself in the mirror and thank God that every day is not like this day!

Choose to refocus...no longer thinking about all the frustration of the busy day! Focus on the good things in your life. I am sure your whole demeanour will change.

Psalm 7:17- I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the Name of the Lord Most High.
